We have been learning about 'time' in P1. This week we were reading stories about day & night and practising some nursery rhymes. One of our favourites to sing is 'Twinkle, twinkle'💫 We then explored some art ideas and found a famous painting by Vincent Van Gogh- 'Starry Night'. We loved how he painted the wind and stars in this painting and thought it would be fun to recreate this painting ourselves🎆🎨 We had fun exploring the technique of fork painting to mix colours and create different effects🤩 We then practised our cutting skills to make the buildings and discovered we could layer up on top of a painted background to add effect. I love their finished results! Well done, P1🙂
We have also been practising writing our names so we enjoyed taking this learning outside and making our names with different objects🤩
One of our new sounds this week in Literacy was the sound, 'e'- We loved sharing the story of 'elmer' the elephant and finished the week off with a nice treat....decorating biscuits in colourful patterns just like 'elmer'🌈 Yum yum😋
