P5 put their Ancient Egyptian hats on today as they stepped back in time for an exciting STEM challenge! 🐪
During our WAU lessons this week, we’ve been exploring pyramids, including the magnificent Great Pyramid of Giza, so we thought it was only right to try building our own! Using cocktail sticks and marshmallows, pupils worked in small groups to design and construct pyramid structures that could stand tall right to the end. 💡🧱
The challenge encouraged lots of problem-solving, teamwork and creativity, as pupils had to carefully plan how to support their structures and keep them stable. All groups showed fantastic perseverance, especially when structures started to wobble! 💪😊
At the end of the lesson, we reflected on how it felt to build the pyramids, celebrating our successes and discussing the challenges we faced. We then compared our experience to the incredible effort and determination the Ancient Egyptians would have needed to build their pyramids thousands of years ago.
