💛 Kindness Week in Primary One 💛

16th Nov 2025

This week, Primary One have been exploring what it truly means to be kind — to each other and to ourselves. We’ve had lots of thoughtful discussions and some fantastic hands-on activities to help us understand the power of our words and actions.

One of our favourite moments was a very exciting toothpaste experiment! The children squeezed out a whole tube of toothpaste, with each squeeze representing unkind words. When we tried to put the toothpaste back into the tube, we discovered it was impossible — just like trying to take back hurtful words once they’ve been said. This helped the children understand how important it is to think carefully about what we say, even if we later apologise.

We also had a wonderful activity with Humpty Dumpty. After Humpty’s big fall, the children used plasters and gentle hands to put him back together again. It was a lovely way to show how kindness helps heal and support others.

The children really enjoyed all of our Kindness Week activities, and we are so proud of the thoughtful, caring ideas they shared. What a lovely week of learning, and reflecting in Primary One.
