I can’t believe that six months have passed since I arrived at CRUMLIN IPS. It has been great to get to know the children during that time. You should all be very proud of your children. They really are a lovely group and I look forward to continuing to work with them next term. We are also blessed with a great staff team at our school and I have been very impressed with the hard work and dedication they have shown through this very difficult year. We all hope that as we move on to the new term, we can continue to return to normal school routines and that lockdowns are now behind us. I am very proud to lead our school community.
Your child’s report has been sent home with them today, Monday 28th June 2021. The children should be commended for their efforts and improvements this year despite the difficulties caused by the pandemic.
Thank you all for your support for your children and our school over the past few months. I hope that you all have a lovely break over the summer months!

MEET OUR NEWLY APPOINTED TEACHING STAFF
SOME FURTHER TEACHING STAFF CHANGES
MRS ALLEN
Mrs Allen has been a teacher at CRUMLIN IPS for 23 years. After a tough year she has decided to take a short, one-year career break from school. Mrs Allen is an important part of our team and we will miss her next year. We all wish her well and we hope that she gets plenty of time to rest and recuperate before coming back in 2022 to join us for more adventures!
MRS CORBETT
Mrs Corbett has recently been appointed as Learning Support Coordinator (SENco). In the next school year, she will not have a classroom commitment but instead will be releasing pupils from class for additional support as well as overseeing the implementation of the new SEND Act and personal learning plans. We wish Mrs Corbett every success in this role.
MR YOUNG
In the next school year, Mr Young will also be released from his classroom commitment and will instead devote his time to the leadership and management of the school. He is looking forward to visiting all of the classes next year!
YEAR 7 LASER TAG TRIP
UNIFORM
Over the summer we are changing our uniform supplier. We will start to use Signature Works for our uniform supplies and everything will be available to purchase online and delivered directly to your home. The online store should be up and running in the next couple of weeks and we will send out access details via our website and app. Signature Works also have a physical store in Belfast where you can purchase uniform. (We hope to get some samples that you can try on in school).
Our sweatshirts and cardigans will remain the same and children should also be wearing a white polo shirt, appropriate grey school trousers/skirt and black school shoes. Trainers are not part of our regular school uniform and in the new term we would ask that you use school shoes. We haven’t been very strict with uniform this term but we hope that children will all be in the correct uniform when we return at the end of August.
In the photo (left) you can see one new addition that will be available from signature works. This new PE uniform will be on the web store and can be worn, along with a white polo shirt on days when the children have PE lessons. This will be warmer than wearing PE shorts to school and means that pupils do not need to get changed in school. Trainers can be worn on PE days for children wearing their tracksuit to school.
