Mid-morning break

All pupils have a ten minute mid-morning break for

outside play. Prior to this they are given time to

eat a small snack which they can bring from home.

The school encourages healthy eating, so these

snacks should not be sweets or chocolate.

The school canteen is open at break time and all

children can buy toast, pancakes or scones. There

are two filtered water coolers in school to which

the children have access. Water bottles should be

brought in and can be filled as necessary.

Lunch

There are 2 choices available at lunchtime.

Pupils may bring a packed lunch which they can eat

in designated classrooms. Lunches should consist of

wholesome food. Any uneaten items will be taken

home so that you can monitor what your child is

eating. Drinks should be in suitable containers

(not glass) and should not be fizzy.

They must be packed separately from school books to

avoid damage.

School Meals are supplied by NEELB catering division.

Children taking dinners can choose between two

dinners and two desserts each day and water or milk

is available to all children.

A menu is sent home each Friday. Parents can

indicate their child’s choice for the following week

and return it with payment on a Monday morning.

Currently a standard charge of £2.60 per meal

applies. Parents who feel their child may qualify

for free school meals should speak to the school

secretary.

Following lunch pupils have 20-30 minutes to play

in the playground where they are supervised at

all times.
